Just Keep Podcasting

I think about podcasting a lot.

I also listen to a plethora of podcasts on various topics.

And what keeps me coming back, hitting that “follow” button, is curiosity. I believe that if you are a podcast listener, you most likely are someone who is interested in multiple points of view. Or maybe the views you have are already marginalized so it’s hard to find people who think the same way.

Take for instance, my niche, inclusive education. I’ve been producing Think Inclusive for coming up on 12 years. And the reason I started it was because I was frustrated in the lack of access I had to conversations about inclusive education.

Looking at the landscape of podcasts that cover the same niche? It is exponentially larger. What a wonderful time to be someone advocating for inclusion!

When I was a teacher, one of the things that I kept me going was reflecting on what was working and where I needed to grow. And so I’m attempting some reflection now as a podcaster.

I’ve been very fortunate to keep up the podcast. And while Think Inclusive isn’t a smash hit on the Apple Podcast charts (and might never be) one of my goals has always been to stay consistent and keep getting a little bit better every season.

I wrapped up Season 10 last month and it was our best season yet. Across the board, the production, the downloads, the guests, it was all great.

And as of this writing I have 20+ interviews recorded and ready to be produced and episodes scheduled through May of 2024. It’s been a slog, but worth every minute.

My advice to podcasters?

Just keep podcasting.
